KS1&2 Skin Care Unit (Planet Dermis)

Introduction

Mission to Planet Dermis provides support for several aspects of the KS1/2 science and PSHE syllabi. The intention is to provide online stimulus and learning for use in:

  • Classroom lessons - especially where interactive whiteboards are available
  • Project work – in the class or at home
  • Home based investigations – especially where pupils can involve family or friends in simple science investigations

A number of worksheets are available for teachers to print out and use during a classroom session, especially in the ‘break’ between learning about the skin and discovering how to keep it healthy.

The content and structure of the unit has been designed to complement the National Curriculum for England and Wales and the DfES scheme of work.

It’s a very flexible approach yet offers teachers a clearly defined and easy to use lesson for busy teachers.
